I am torn about the meaning of friendship
so what is neighborly and what is kinship?
to drink and dine at fancy restaurants?
gossip and use the word love to serve your ambiance?

I am to have no expectations
my love is to be unconditional
to be numb with no sensation
like a dog with puppy love
throw me a bone
that should be enough

it's only a game I finally see
shallow and self serving I foresee
friendship at the surface
of a flowing lake
don't be sorry
for it was my mistake....
